Come Experience Authentic Hospitality in a Classic New England Setting
The Inn at Harbor Hill Marina Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful waterfront property nestled in the marina district in the quaint New England village of Niantic. Situated on the property are our two buildings ~ the original ‘Main Inn’ and the newer ‘Captain Clark House’. Guests enjoy magnificent water and nautical views from many of our sixteen guestrooms, each with its own unique decor and special amenities, some with queen or king beds, soaking tubs, gas fireplaces and private porch or balcony. The quiet, welcoming rooms are comfortably appointed to suit the needs of any guest looking for a perfect CT Shoreline getaway.
Since 1997, guests have enjoyed the casual elegance of our beautifully restored turn-of-the-century waterfront ‘Main Inn’ with nine guestrooms. These guestrooms offer private bath, water views, cable TV, CD player, paddle fans and air conditioning. Most have queen beds, some have two beds and others have private balcony or porch.
The ‘Captain Clark House’ opened in 2011 with seven guestrooms in a beautifully remodeled and redesigned turn-of the-century Victorian home. These guestrooms offer comfortable, soothing and spacious accommodations that are beautifully appointed with king pillow-top beds, paddle fans and air conditioning, 32″ flat screen cable TV and bathrooms with a large ‘rain’ shower and an oversized deep-soaking bathtub. Some have gas fireplace and private balcony or porch.
Mystic Country, the perfect location for an Unforgettable CT Shoreline Vacation
The inn is also a short 5 minute walk to the downtown village of Niantic where several restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, antique and boutique shops, book stores and a classic family-owned movie-theater await. Come enjoy our three town beaches and mile-long boardwalk overlooking Niantic Bay and scenic Long Island Sound.
In addition to all we have to offer at our Bed and Breakfast and our waterfront downtown village of Niantic, the inn is located just minutes from famed Mystic, CT. Listed in the New York Times #1 Bestseller book as one of the “1,000 Places To See Before You Die”, Mystic’s nautical connection is best told at Mystic Seaport, the nation’s largest maritime museum which has preserved a number of vintage sailing ships, most notably the Charles W. Morgan and a host of seaport themed buildings. The village itself is located on the Mystic River, which flows into Long Island Sound, providing access to the sea.
The Mystic Country region is also well known for Mystic Aquarium, charter sailboat cruises, wineries, world-class casinos and Olde Mistick Village where over 50 shops and restaurants are set in a colonial New England setting. We pride ourselves for having intimate knowledge of the Mystic Region, area attractions and restaurants allowing us to provide you, our guests with the most awesome getaway experience possible.
History, Amenities and Extras
Once called the Bay View House, the inn was originally established as a summer seaside boarding house dating back to the late 1800’s. Little information is available on the history of the property but local rumor claims that during the very early years, this house was popular with sailors and sea Captain’s looking for a little company while on shore leave – enough said. Times have changed and today with many transformations, everywhere you look ~ from the beautiful and well-appointed guestrooms, to our lush gardens and lovely common areas, you can see every step taken to update yet preserve this local historical landmark location. Today, we find that our inn guests, our marina boaters, and yes, the local townsfolk, look forward to visiting and enjoying their time here at the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina.
Such stunning New England beauty is complemented by the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina’s comfortable, eclectic accommodations decorated in color schemes that evoke feelings of life by the sea or your own secret garden. Guests are pampered with our bountiful breakfast, complimentary snacks, professional guest services and fine amenities. They all combine to make the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina one of the most outstanding bed & breakfast inns in all of Mystic Country, Connecticut and throughout the entire country for that matter.
