Newport, RI ~ 1 ¼ hrs drive from the Inn.
Newport in its heyday was a great seaport and nowhere else can you see or take guided tours of so many grand villas and mansions. Lots of boutique shopping, sailing cruises, sightseeing, restaurants and outdoor cafes.

Block Island, RI ~ 1 hr high speed ferry ride from New London.
Block Island is known for its relaxed way of life. See the North Light, 250-foot bluffs or the seventeen miles of beach.

Essex, CT ~ 20 min drive from the Inn
Known as "The Best Small Town in America. " Historic Village on the Connecticut River with an excellent harbor for boaters from Long Island Sound. Quaint boutique shopping and known for its historic Tap Room, where lively music rings out nightly.

Quiet Corner ~ 45 min scenic drive from the Inn
Drive along Rte 169, nominated one of the top ten scenic highways in the US by Scenic America. Travel through northeastern CT, especially scenic during the foliage season, and visit towns such as Putnam, Canterbury and Woodstock. Enjoy shopping, antiquing and dining.
